Postal Service to Los Alamos
Los Alamos, NM – Yesterday’s press release announcing mail service for residents requires clarification and some additions: The hours of service are today through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Pojoaque High School Gym. The Post Office on Central Avenue in Los Alamos is closed. Anyone receiving mail in a P.O. Box at this location must go to the gym to pick up mail through Saturday. The White Rock Post Office is open. The North Central Regional Transit District is providing busses to take evacuees to the gym to pick up their mail. They will be coordinating departure times with each shelter to accommodate their needs. The Red Cross reported today that there are currently 58 individuals at the Santa Claran Resort Center and 45 individuals at the Cities of Gold Hotel Conference Center.

Information Services
Los Alamos County’s 311 Customer Care Center is open today from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. to assist and inform residents, county staff, emergency responders and others with safe evacuation and shelter information, as well as other community and infrastructure functions. A Joint Information Center is operational for media inquiries about the fire. Members of the public are encouraged to tune in to Radio 1610, visit nmfireinfo.wordpress.com or www.inciweb.org/incident/2385/ for fire-specific updates, and to contact the 311 Customer Care Center at 311 from land lines or 662-8333 from cell phones or visit www.losalamosnm.us for community information

Red Cross Coordinating Donations and Volunteers Los Alamos, NM – Los Alamos County is receiving an outpouring of support from the public for donations and volunteers. The Red Cross is assisting in organizing these efforts. The public is asked to call Daniel Meza at the Red Cross at 505-265-8514. Employee Hotline 661-4550
Los Alamos County remains on an "essential services only" status for Wednesday, June 29 and Thursday, June 30th. Employees should continue to check in with their supervisors daily if they are not sure if they should report as "essential services" personnel or not. Employees are encouraged to continue to check this hotline ( 661-4550 ) daily for updates, listen to 1610AM radio, or, check the County's webpage at www.losalamosnm.us.

Employee Payroll Info
Employees should know that Payroll has been processed and LANB has the direct deposit file. It will be deposited into your accounts as usual for those who have direct deposit. For those that receive a manual check, those will be made available for pick up Thursday at the Cities of Gold HOTEL between 10 am and 2 pm. Kat Brophy from HR will be there to hand out checks. These will only be handed out to the County employee and you must show a photo id to pick up your check. Kat will be trying to contact you directly by phone to ensure that you are aware of these arrangements. You can also call her (662-8045) if you have any additional questions regarding coordination. Manual paychecks for fire fighters will be delivered directly to Fire TAC and they will distribute them to individual fire fighters.

Staffing for 6/29 and 6/30
The County will remain with only essential staff for Wednesday 6/29/11 and Thursday 6/30/11. A decision about Friday will be made later in the week. If you have any specific questions regarding your work assignment, please contact your either your direct supervisor, division manager or department head.
