Support Los Alamos Public Schools' goal of ranking among the top public schools in the nation; Partner with Los Alamos Public Schools and the University of New Mexico - Los Alamos; and support, as appropriate, the delivery of their educational services to community standards

Why is this important?

Citizens in Los Alamos County have always set high standards for their children’s education. The availability of a strong public education system that produces well-educated graduates is a primary reason why people choose to live and work in Los Alamos County.

What does this mean?

Los Alamos County has a public education system that fosters learning and produces healthy and successful children who want to graduate and live in Los Alamos one day to raise their families; our children are our future residents.

How do we achieve our goal?

Los Alamos County partners with Los Alamos Public Schools to provide funding for school projects as appropriate. Other funding supports a safe learning atmosphere on campus with the skills of a trained, dedicated school resource officer. The County will support efforts by Los Alamos Public Schools to rank among the top public schools in the nation. The County will support efforts by UNM-Los Alamos to provide top-notch education in our community.
