Utility services are provided to the Los Alamos Community by the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities, a community-owned utility proudly providing electric, natural gas, water and wastewater services.

Unlike an investor-owned utility, DPU focuses on providing good service and being involved in the community rather than profits. It is a department under the Los Alamos County government, owned by the community, and governed by the Board of Public Utilities.

You can support the Utility Assistance Program (UAP) by shopping for DPU merchandise on Zazzle! DPU's four utility mascots are featured on apparel and more! All profits from sales are directed to the UAP fund to benefit qualified DPU customers struggling to pay their utility bills.
