Project Updates
Urban Trail Phase I and II Project Current Update
As of December 12, 2024, construction activities are complete, except for the installation of signage, on the sections of the Urban Trail along 20th Street, through Fuller Lodge grounds to Spruce Street and along Canyon Road from the Tennis Courts to the Aquatic Center. The section of Trail from Spruce Street to Canyon Road in the wooded area by the Tennis Courts remains closed as we wait for materials to complete the railing on the Boardwalk. It is expected that all remaining work will be completed by the end of January.
Project Scope
Urban Trail Phase I includes construction of a 10-foot-wide concrete multi-use trail 0.434 miles in length between the intersection of Trinity Drive and 20th Street, through the Fuller Lodge grounds to the intersection of Ponderosa Street and Spruce Street. Work will also include construction of curb and gutter, retaining wall, signage, striping, lighting, and a drainage structure.
The scope of work includes work on Phase I and Phase II concurrently.
Project Overview
Urban Trail Phase II includes construction of a 10-foot-wide concrete multi-use trail 0.46 miles in length between the intersection of Ponderosa Street and Spruce Street through the wooded area by the tennis courts and along Canyon Road to the rear entrance of the Aquatic Center. Work will also include construction of curb and gutter, drainage improvements, retaining walls, lighting, signage, striping, a rapid flashing beacon, and 370 linear feet of precast boardwalk.
The Canyon Road Tennis Courts Wallboard and Parking Lot will be closed for the duration of the construction and utilized as a staging area by the contractor. Alternatives for tennis and wallboard can be found at Urban Park, Myrtle Tennis/Pickleball Courts, Piñon Park, and Barranca Mesa Park.
