Rachel Pearson
Artist and Los Alamos resident, Rachel Pearson has earned placement in many juried shows and awards in the few short years since her return to art making. Soft pastels are her favorite medium. They allow her to achieve a painterly feel along with enthusiastic mark-making. On February 14th, she will spend her time in the Rotunda creating artworks in the style of plein air painters, offering a different, more artistic perspective of the everyday happenings in the Rotunda when the legislature is in session. Follow her on Instagram @rachelkpearson or her website, rachelpearsonartist.com
Elizabeth Brosha
Harpist, Elizabeth Brosha has been a resident of New Mexico for over twenty years, several of which were spent teaching first grade while incorporating music and arts into the curriculum. In 2018 she graduated from the Harp For Healing Certification program and became a therapeutic musician playing for hospice and nursing facilities. She maintains a small teaching studio in Los Alamos, and she plays calming harp music as therapy as well as for special events. You can find her on YouTube and at www.broshaharp.com.
Dance Arts Los Alamos
Dance Arts Los Alamos, will present a new work entitled "Re-Imagined", choreographed by DALA Artistic Director, Jonathan Guise, and Rehearsal Director, Rachel Zervakos. This dynamic piece combines swing dance and contemporary ballet, set to a musical remix of classic swing tunes, by Oh1; this work will be performed later this month at the Youth America Grand Prix in Denver, the largest student ballet competition in the world. Advanced students will also showcase excerpts of "The Tales of Don Quixote," DALA's second annual full-length spring ballet production, which opens on May 3rd.
