Los Alamos County Utility Assistance Program
The purpose of the UAP is to provide assistance to qualified low income residential customers of the Utility during the periods of October 1st through March 31st, or year-round for citizens over age 65 or account holders qualified through the Social Security Administration for Supplemental Security Income (SSI), or one-time assistance to account holders who demonstrate need due to unforeseen and unusual circumstances. Section 8 Housing (Housing Choice Voucher Program)
Los Alamos County partners with Santa Fe Civic Housing Authority - Espanola Office for Section 8 assistance. Housing specialist Christine Archuleta is in Los Alamos twice monthly on Wednesdays to provide assistance to Los Alamos residents regarding the Los Alamos County Housing Choice Voucher Program. Mobile Food Pantry Is a food distribution program that serves low-income residents on the 4th Friday of each month, except when dates conflict with holidays.
Santa Fe Food Depot's Mobile Food Pantry will be at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church parking lot.

Legal Resources
The Legal Resources for the Elderly Program (LREP) is a free, statewide helpline for New Mexico residents age 55 and older. The program does not have any income restrictions. It is a joint project of the New Mexico state Bar Foundation and the New Mexico Aging and Long-Term Services Department.
