George came to Los Alamos in 1974, fresh out of the University of Southern California with a Master’s Degree in physics.  He worked at LANL for 27 years. He raised three children here and has 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  He and wife Christine have been married 29 years and counting and live within 100 yards of the Municipal Building.

While still employed at LANL George entered Los Alamos politics and served 8 years on the County Council, four years as County Assessor, and four years as Municipal Judge.  After retiring from LANL George graduated from UNM School of Law and practiced law in Los Alamos for 18 years until he was again elected County Assessor in 2022.

George has been riding motorcycles since he was a young man and has accumulated over 400,000 miles of mostly long-distance riding.  He and Chris love to travel together, by RV or sometimes arriving separately at distant locations, she by air and he by Harley.  They share passions for politics and their dogs Sophie and Gracie.
