Honorable Elizabeth K. Allen

Municipal Court Judge

The Honorable Allen is serving her second four-year term as the Presiding Judge of the Los Alamos County Municipal Court. Before being elected, she worked as a prosecutor, a defense attorney, and a sole practitioner. She represented children in child protection court, lifers in prison on post-conviction appeals, and families seeking special education services.

Judge Elizabeth Allen

Established by the Charter of the Incorporated County of Los Alamos as authorized and required by state law, the Los Alamos County Municipal court has limited jurisdiction and is operating within the New Mexico Municipal Court System. It is an independent branch of government, and is constitutionally entrusted with the fair and just resolution of disputes in order to attain justice for the individual and society through the rule of law. The Los Alamos County Municipal Court has jurisdiction over petty misdemeanors and violations of Municipal Code such as traffic, DWI, and animal control violations.
