The Artificial Turf Study, conducted by NV5, aims to develop recommendations for optimal field designs and alignments that comply with regulations set by the New Mexico Activities Association (NMAA), USA Baseball, and USA Softball. The study also ensures compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and will provide detailed construction estimates, long-term maintenance costs, required equipment, and management strategies for field upkeep.
The study is expected to be completed by July 2025. These public sessions ensure that the needs and concerns of Los Alamos residents are addressed as part of the decision-making process. Community members are encouraged to share their input to help shape the future of local sports facilities.
On January 30, the second Public Engagement Listening Session for the ongoing Artificial Turf Study will take place from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Fuller Lodge. This session provides an opportunity for community members to ask questions and offer feedback on the study’s progress. For those unable to attend in person, a Zoom option will be available to participate virtually.
