Celebrate the Coming of Winter with ULLR Fest at Pajarito Mountain

As the weather begins to cool off and ski season is right around the corner, all are invited to celebrate the coming of winter with a fun-filled weekend at ULLR Fest at Pajarito Mountain. Running from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, the lively and eccentric celebration includes Viking-themed costumes, a New Mexico Craft Beer Festival, downhill Strava mountain bike races, live music from local favorites, and hiking and biking at Pajarito Mountain.

“In Los Alamos, outdoor recreation is a way of life through all four seasons, but for many, ski season is a highly anticipated time of year,” said Ellyn Felton, Marketing Specialist for Los Alamos County. “ULLR Fest is a wonderful time to visit Los Alamos and experience that love of outdoor activity and the charm of our small community, as well as to enjoy wild costumes, local beer, and fast-paced competitions. We invite all to join us as we celebrate the coming of winter—and ski season at Pajarito Mountain.”

Lifts will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the Strava downhill race taking place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The New Mexico Craft Beer Festival, featuring breweries like Bathtub Row, Second Street, and Boxing Bear, will take place from noon to 6 p.m. with a $25 entry fee.

Attendees will enjoy live music from John Martinez from the band Eddy and the Nomads, featuring the Fabulous Martini Tones. The café will be open throughout the event, and costumes are encouraged.

Atomic City Transit shuttles will provide free transit from Los Alamos High School to Pajarito Mountain every 30 minutes between 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
