Los Alamos County announced today that the National Community Survey™ (NCS) is now open to all residents. The NCS is a benchmarking survey that the County used in 2020, 2022 and now 2024 to gauge citizen perceptions of community livability. It focuses on eight key areas: Safety, Mobility, Natural Environment, Built Environment, Economy, Recreation and Wellness, Education and Enrichment, and Community Engagement.
Residents can access the survey online. To take the survey type in the following web addresses into the URL field:
This is the second phase of the survey. Earlier this month, a randomly selected sample of Los Alamos and White Rock households were invited to participate. County officials request that these individuals use the unique survey link provided in their invitation and follow the instructions regarding which household member should respond to ensure diverse and representative feedback.
The survey closes at 10:59 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6, for both the open participation and random sample groups. All responses are anonymous. While not required, participants will be asked if they would like to register using an email and ZIP code. This assists the County’s vendor in preventing duplicate responses and verifying residency within the county. Additionally, Los Alamos County aims to maintain ongoing engagement with the community and may periodically seek input on other important issues, initiatives, or other relevant topics using the email list.
Los Alamos County Council and leadership extend their thanks to those in the sample group who have already completed the survey and encourage other residents to participate. The survey results will be used to guide strategic planning efforts, set priority goals, and allocate resources to improve services, facilities, and initiatives.
