County seeks applicant for Inclusivity Task Force vacancy

The Los Alamos County Council is seeking letters of interest from County residents to fill a vacancy on the seven-member Los Alamos Inclusivity Task Force. Letters must be submitted by 12 p.m. on Friday, February 21.
To be eligible, applicants must reside in Los Alamos County and be available to attend task force meetings scheduled through 2025. Meetings occur once, sometimes twice a month on Wednesdays at 12:15 p.m. at the Municipal Building (1000 Central Avenue, Los Alamos, NM). Members can participate in person or virtually via Zoom. The full meeting schedule is available on the County website at https://lacnm.com/ITF.
The Inclusivity Task Force, as outlined in its charter, advises the County Council on the following:
- Assessing the overall perspective of inclusivity within the community.
- Identifying best practices from municipalities, universities, industries, and other organizations that could promote inclusivity and belonging in Los Alamos County.
- Reviewing the efforts of the previous Racial Equity and Inclusivity Task Force and evaluating the status of its recommendations.
- Proposing near-term actions to address immediate opportunities and longer-term strategies for sustainable progress to benefit the community.
- Engaging the community for feedback on a final task force report.
Interested residents should email a Letter of Interest (maximum of two pages) to lacmanager@lacnm.us by 12 p.m. on Friday, February 21. Applicants should include their background, qualifications, and why they are interested to serve.
The Council will appoint a new member during its regular meeting on Tuesday, February 25, at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 1000 Central Avenue, Los Alamos. While applicants are welcome to attend the meeting, their presence is not required.
