Voting for the 2024 General Election has begun, with early and absentee voting happening now, and Election Day on Tuesday, November 5. County Clerk Naomi Maestas would like to remind citizens to “Make Your Vote Count” by setting aside time to vote early or fill out and turn in your absentee ballots.
Not yet registered to vote? Same-Day-Voter Registration (SDR) will be offered at all Vote Centers through Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5, for new voters and those needing to update their address.
 
Want to vote early? Early votingis available at the County Municipal Building now (1000 Central Ave, Los Alamos) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Starting Saturday, Oct. 19, early voting will be expanded to include the White Rock Town Hall (139 Longview Drive, White Rock), with new hours from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday thru Saturday. All Early/Absentee In-Person voting ENDS Saturday, Nov. 2 at both locations.
 
It’s not too late! Absentee Applications can still be obtained through the following methods: applications can be mailed by request; apply on-line at www.NMVote.org; downloaded from the Clerk’s webpage; or picked up in-person in the Clerk’s Office.
Remember, voting absentee by mail is secure, confidential, and all qualified absentee ballots are counted. Citizens can also drop their absentee ballots at the Mesa Public Library or White Rock Branch Library secure drop boxes 24/7, or at any early or election day voting site until 7 p.m. on Election Day.
The last day to request an absentee ballot to be sent by mail (Federal or Domestic-within the United States) is Tuesday, Oct. 22. The deadline for a qualified Federal electronic absentee ballots is Saturday, Nov. 2. ALL absentee ballots are physically due back to the County Clerk’s Office no later than 7 p.m. on Election Day.
 
Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5 – The following Vote Centers will be open 7 a.m. to 7p.m.:
  • County Municipal Bldg. - Council Chambers, 1000 Central Ave., Los Alamos
  • White Rock Town Hall - 139 Longview Drive, White Rock
  • Golf Course Community Bldg. – Multi-Purpose Room, 4244 Diamond Drive, Los Alamos
  • University of New Mexico-Los Alamos – Bldg. 2 Room 230, 4000 University Drive
  • Betty Ehart Senior Center - Downstairs Classroom, 1101 Bathtub Row, Los Alamos
