The Los Alamos County Parks and Open Space Division invites the community to participate in a virtual listening session on Wednesday, June 5, at 6 p.m. via Zoom, passcode 364624. This session is part of the planning process to update and consolidate the current open space and trails management plans. This session follows an in-person listening session that was held on May 21, 2024, at Fuller Lodge.

Under contract with Los Alamos County, Sites Southwest Consultants is soliciting feedback from the community to understand key issues, priorities, and goals related to trails and open spaces in Los Alamos County that will assist the Open Space staff to manage county resources more efficiently while better serving the community’s needs.

After Wednesday’s meeting, Sites Southwest will determine the next steps for the development of a draft plan after assessing all citizen input, identifying existing and potential services, updating and consolidating relevant existing county documents, and reviewing best practices.  The goal is to present a draft plan to the Parks and Recreation Board at a date still to be determined.

Interested individuals who are unable to attend Wednesday’s meeting may still submit comments directly to Sites Southwest online at https://forms.gle/eB3ZrMwWtCPtEcoR9

More information on the planning process is available on the Open Space & Trails Management Plan project webpage.
