Los Alamos County Parks and Open Space Division is excited to announce that reservations for Camp May, Main Gate RV Park, and White Rock RV Park can now be made online through the County’s website under the “Camping & RV Parks”. This new service provides a convenient alternative to the previous in-person-only reservation system, making it easier for both visitors and residents to plan their stays.

Camp May, located near Pajarito Mountain ski hill, offers scenic picnic areas and fire pits. Open from May 1 to October 31 (dependent on weather), it is situated approximately six miles west of Los Alamos. The nightly fee is $10.

Main Gate RV Park is located off NM 502 at the entrance to Los Alamos. It offers year-round access to ten RV spaces, with amenities such as picnic tables, restrooms, fresh water and on-site sewer dump stations. The nightly fee is $10.

White Rock Visitors Center RV Park is located at 115 State Road 4 in White Rock and is open year-round. It features 16 RV spaces equipped with electric hookups, fresh water and on-site sewer dump station, as well as a pet yard. The nightly fee is $20.

Under Los Alamos County Ordinance 38-755, all camping is limited to 14 calendar days in any consecutive 30-day period, with fines for violations ranging from $25 to $500 per offense, according to Ordinance 38-754.

Reservations for camping locations can be made online through the website or in person at the Aquatic Center (2760 Canyon Road, Los Alamos) during regular business hours. For more information, visit the reservations website or contact Recreation at (505) 662-8170.
