County offices closed Nov. 28-29 for the Thanksgiving holiday

In observance of Thanksgiving, Los Alamos County government offices and services will join other federal, state, and local governments and close on Thursday, Nov. 28 and Friday, Nov. 29, 2024. 

The County’s administrative offices, senior centers, Atomic City Transit fixed bus routes, and the Environmental Services division are closed on both days. In addition, the following facilities will have modified hours:

-            White Rock Branch and Mesa Public libraries  –

o   Wednesday before Thanksgiving – Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

o   Thursday - Thanksgiving Day – Closed

o   Friday after Thanksgiving – Open from 1 to 5 p.m.

-            Aquatic Center and Leisure Lagoon –

o   Wednesday before Thanksgiving – Open 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

o   Thursday and Friday – Closed

-            Golf Course  – Closed

-            Ice Rink –

o   Wednesday before Thanksgiving – Open 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

o   Thursday – Thanksgiving Day – Closed

o   Friday after Thanksgiving – Open 12 to 5 p.m.

-            Open Gym Programs – All programs are canceled November 27-29.

-            Environmental Services  – The Eco Station and Overlook Convenience Center will be closed on Thursday and Friday. No residential or commercial trash or recycling collection service will be provided these days. If the observed date falls on your normal trash day, place your materials out for collection on Wednesday, Nov. 27. Regular hours will resume on Saturday, Nov. 30.

-            Atomic City Transit  – Regularly scheduled bus service will not operate on Thursday or Friday and Dial-a-Ride services will not be available. Regular service will resume on Monday, Dec. 2.
