Affordable rental housing projects are located throughout Los Alamos. These are subsidized by various state and federal programs to provide assistance for lower income residents.

Los Alamos County partners with Santa Fe Civic Housing Authority (SFCHA) - Espanola Office for Section 8 assistance. Housing specialist Christine Archuleta is available twice monthly in Los Alamos at the Social Services office at 1183 Diamond Dr., Ste. The Bluffs Senior Apartment community is targeted to those households having low and moderate-incomes and are 55 years old and older. The community has 64-units comprised of one- and two-bedroom units including on-site laundry facilities, fitness room, community room with kitchen, library and computer room, elevator, etc. The property is conveniently located near grocery stores, downtown restaurants and shopping, parks, and transit.
