In Los Alamos County solid waste is collected weekly, recycling and yard trimmings are collecting bi-weekly via roll-carts for residents living in single family homes, duplexes, quads or town homes.
Residents living in apartment complexes are provided dumpsters for trash disposal. Recycling dumpsters and roll carts are also available for apartment complexes upon request. Apartment dwellers may also drop off their recycling material at the Eco Station, Overlook Convenience Center, and Lemon Lot.

Free Load Guide:
Residents who use roll-carts are offered 12 free loads per year. Please see the Free Load Guide(PDF, 216KB).
To allow others, including tenants or hired contractors, to transport and dispose of acceptable materials on the eligible customer’s behalf, please use the Temporary Authorization(PDF, 115KB) form.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection
The household hazardous waste (HHW) program is available to Los Alamos County residents who pay for curbside roll-cart collection services. HHW material will be accepted once monthly at the Eco Station between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
