Wastewater Monitoring
Please note that due to a change in BioBot operations, we were informed that we would not receive updated data after August 31, 2024. However, BioBot has continued to provide data for samples collected at both wastewater treatment plants. The latest graphs are available below. The County is still evaluating how to continue this wastewater surveillance program through BioBot or another vendor.
Los Alamos County participates in a wastewater surveillance program with BioBot to monitor our wastewater for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), and Influenza A and B. Samples are collected from two sites, one in Los Alamos and one in White Rock. BioBot's graphs of the most recent data for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), RSV, and Influenza A and B are included in the accordions below. As with all health issues, we recommend that you consult with your physician or contact the New Mexico Department of Health's hotline 1-833-SWNURSE (1-833-796-8773) to speak with a nurse regarding any of the data you may be concerned about.
(Additionally the New Mexico Department of Health has a Viral Respiratory Infection Dashboard. Case data is based on emergency department visits and the number of reported tests positive for respiratory infections. There are multiple tabs at the top of the dashboard page to help users find a variety of state and county-level data that may be helpful.)

Note: Data has been restarted for White Rock Plant but we are verifying the data for 11/5/24. Data for 11/12/24 and 11/19/24 was just sent last week.
