On Thursday, May 2, 2024 the Los Alamos County Transportation Board and Public Works Department held a public meeting to present the Initial Evaluation of Potential Transit Center Sites in Downtown Los Alamos and White Rock.

Los Alamos County in coordination with its Transit Partners (Atomic City Transit, New Mexico DOT Park & Ride, North Central Regional Transit District and Los Alamos National Lab) has partnered with consulting firm Stantec to evaluate locations for a potential new transit center in Downtown Los Alamos and a potential auxiliary transit center in White Rock. The transit center(s) will provide connection between different bus lines and could include park and ride and new mixed-use development.

Study Scope of Work

The primary objectives of this study are: (1) establishment of the need for an action, (2) development of a range of potential alternatives to achieve the need, and (3) elimination of alternatives that are not feasible or are clearly inferior to other options.
