Lemon Lots Permits

Cars, Trucks & Motorcycles: The non-refundable fee is $10 for a spot in an allotted ten-day session.

RVs, Trailers & Boats: The non-refundable fee is $20 for a spot in an allotted ten-day session.

Reserving a space and obtaining a permit to sell your used vehicle at the Lemon Lot is handled on the Los Alamos County Parks, Recreation and Facility Reservations webpage. Download the step-by-step Lemon Lot instructions(PDF, 244KB) or follow the steps below: 

1. Visit the Los Alamos County Parks, Recreation and Facility Reservations webpage. 
2. Login with your user name and password or create an account, if you don't already have one.
3. Select the image that says "Camping and Vendor Permits."
4. Under "Rental Class" select the Lemon Lot option that matches the vehicle you plan to sell. Identify the begin and end dates that you would like to reserve and than select "Search."
5. Reserve a space with the green "+" and pay for the permit with a credit card. Your permit will be provided electronically.
6. Park the vehicle in the Lemon Lot in the appropriate designated area during the reserved dates.
7. Place the printed permit on the dashboard of the vehicle.

The person selling the vehicle must be the owner, and live or work in Los Alamos County. No dealers of motor vehicles, nor their representatives, are allowed to use the Lemon Lot.

Chapter 8, Article VI, Sec. 38-364 of the Los Alamos County code of ordinances sets forth the process for the casual sale of motor vehicles, trailers and recreational boats.

The Lemon Lot permit may be renewed twice within six months. We DO NOT guarantee back-to-back permits.

The Lemon Lot is located next to the Sullivan Field parking lot on Diamond Dr., between Canyon Rd. and Trinity Dr.
